CareWell Blog, week of April 22, 2013

Despite a cold and damp morning, the dedication of a new CareWell Urgent Care Center in Billerica went on as planned on Saturday, April 20, with one small exception:  guests, staff, speakers, and members of the traditional Irish musician group, Rossacroo-na-loo, moved inside for the pleasant and somewhat comfortable event.

Rev. Bruce C. Taylor, Minister, First Parish Unitarian Church in Billerica, offered a blessing for those who heal and those who will come to the new center at 510 Boston Road to be healed.  Special prayers were included for those recovering from the Boston Marathon explosions on April 15.  Renee Lohman, President and CEO of CareWell welcomed the group and spoke of the increased access to healthcare the new center will provide.  Community leaders who spoke included State Rep. Marc Lombardo and Caroline Catlender, Executive Director of the Billerica Community Alliance. Dave Gagliardi, chairman of the Billerica Board of Selectmen also attended, as did Doris Pearson, Vice President of the Billerica Community Alliance Board, and Monica Mullen, Secretary.
