Clik here to view.“Today’s needs are today’s need and they need to be addressed today, not three weeks from today at your doctor’s convenience,” said CareWell Urgent Care Staff Physician Dr. Jacquelyn Lamb at an Open House and Dedication Ceremony held March 2 at the newly opened CareWell Urgent Care Center in Norwell. “A lot of the dissatisfaction in health care stems from doctors, nurses and other health care providers not respecting the time and the needs of the patient.”
Lamb promised that the new center would deliver appointments when you need them; high quality care; and doctors and nurses who respect your needs and your time.
Urgent care serves as a bridge to a patient’s primary care provider, Lamb added “We are here to augment what you get from your primary care provider. Anytime we can help you stay away from an emergency department simply because you could not get in to see your primary care doctor is a good day.”
Lamb addressed a crowd of about 20 community members who attended the open house and later toured the facility. The traditional Celtic trio Rossacroo-Na-Loo provided musical entertainment.
CareWell Urgent Care CEO Renee Lohman, who emceed the dedication ceremony, noted that urgent care was the future of health care. “Urgent care provides consumers with an open book review of what they are getting for their health care dime,” she said. “A visit to one of our centers costs about $800 less than the same services in an emergency department and in most cases you have a better experience.”
State Rep. Rhonda Nyman addressed the crowd and noted that “staying healthy is of utmost importance and access to health care services in times of need is vital.”
She added that CareWell Urgent Care was also employing 10 local residents. “A new business and new health care options are two positive assets to our region,” she said.
South Shore Chamber of Commerce Chief Operating Officer Laurel Egan Kenny, who noted that she had been a past patient of Dr. Lamb’s, said it was always exciting to welcome a new business to the area. “But it’s quite another level of excitement when the business is already established and growing as CareWell Urgent Care is,” Kenney said.
Norwell Chief of Police Ted Ross and Norwell Fire Chief Andy Reardon, and Norwell Selectman Dave DeCoste also attended. The Rev. James F. Rafferty of St. Albert the Great Roman Catholic Church in Weymouth offered a blessing for the staff and future patients of Care Well Urgent Care.
